Our vegetarian café is very much at the heart of the Engine Shed and offers
great food in a friendly and lively setting. Vegan options are always available.
Lunchtime is very popular at the café with soup, quiche, baked potatoes, salads, and desserts available every day. There is always a choice of two main courses, which change daily and include long-time favourites such as stir fry vegetables with tofu and rice, or nut balls in tomato sauce with pasta. Toasties and home bakes are also available throughout the day as well as top quality teas, coffee and soft drinks. We use our own bread, scones, cakes and tray-bakes as much as possible on the café menu as well as our own organic tofu.
Our trainees work alongside staff to prepare the food, serve customers, clear tables and wash up. Working with the public in a busy, lively environment helps our young people gain confidence and mature, and their presence contributes to the café’s unique atmosphere.
