The Engine Shed café is open Monday to Saturday 10.00am - 4.00pm offering a tasty vegetarian menu with organic ingredients being used as much as possible. A wide range of soups, toasties, main courses and deserts/cakes are offered and choices are changed daily – staples such as quiche, baked potatoes and other light meals are served alongside delicious casseroles and rice bakes, lasagnes etc. Vegan options are plentiful even among the sticky delicious cakes!
The atmosphere is child friendly and the café is housed on the light and airy first floor of the building, with a natural wood floor and art exhibitions from local artist on the walls. Also on sale are home-made organic tofu, bread and cakes. Finally it goes without saying that the Engine Shed holds strong views about the ethical and environmental issues around sourcing our produce and ingredients. We source local and Scottish produced organic vegetables, which go into making our delicious meals and stock fair trade products. As a social business ourselves, we have first hand experience of the far reaching effects positive, informed choices have on people’s lives.
